Description A smaller, quite compact bamboo with striated culms and foliage, Lipstick Bamboo is very distinct.   It likes a bit of shade, at least in our more humid conditions.   It is good eye catching retail plant for nurseries.

Description Giant Atter is one of the most attractive larger bamboos.   It has dark green straight culms, large foliage and edible shoots.   Also a great timber species.    I’m surprised this plant is not more widely utilised as it is a beautiful, useful bamboo.

Description One of the more common bamboos you will see around, Painted Bamboo is often planted because of its undeniable beauty.  Very gold culms with green “painted” stripes.   Needs quite a bit of space as it tends to be more of an open clump or it can be contained in pots and planters.
